Industry Experience: 23
Tenure with Hilliary: 23
Dustin Hilliary is Co‑CEO of Hilliary, where he helps lead the company’s growth strategy, financial planning, and strategic acquisitions. Since becoming a managing partner in 2007 at just 20 years old, Dustin has grown Hilliary from one of Oklahoma’s smallest telephone companies into one of the largest independent broadband providers in the state—now serving customers across Oklahoma, Texas, and Iowa.
Like many in the Hilliary family, Dustin began his journey early—pulling cable, assisting on installs, and working wherever it was needed. Those early experiences built a work‑first ethic and reinforced a commitment to long‑term, service‑driven leadership.
He led the purchase of over 15 wireless internet service providers in the 2000s and early 2010s, but since 2016, Hilliary’s growth accelerated with the acquisition of seven rural telephone companies—many run by families for generations before being sold. Through strong partnerships and ongoing reinvestment, the company has delivered more than $250 million in broadband infrastructure to rural communities, supported by USDA initiatives like ReConnect, Community Connect, the Broadband Loan Program, and by grants from the Oklahoma Broadband Office.
In addition to his telecom leadership, Dustin is co‑publisher of The Southwest Ledger and guides Hilliary Media, owner of the Oklahoma Ag Network—one of the state’s largest farm and ranch radio networks.
In 2023, Governor Kevin Stitt appointed Dustin to the Oklahoma State Board of Regents for Higher Education. He champions affordable, high‑quality education statewide, advocating for transparency in tuition decisions and prioritizing student success.
A native of Lawton with roots in Comanche County spanning over 100 years, Dustin is deeply committed to civic service. He is currently on the Oklahoma State Chamber Executive Committee—a critical role in shaping statewide economic policy. He also serves on the Comanche County Memorial Hospital Trust Authority and the Lawton Fort Sill Regional Airport Authority. Previously, he chaired the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce and led fundraising as campaign chair for United Way of Southwest Oklahoma.
He and his wife Megan—his high school sweetheart—live in Elgin with their two children, Keegan and Kipton. The family spends weekends at school and sporting events, and they’re dedicated supporters of Elgin Public Schools. Local giving and community service are always top priorities—“always willing to help” where the need exists.
Dustin lives by the belief: “Rural families and businesses deserve the same quality of service as anyone else—and that’s what drives everything we do.” And never far from memory is his grandfather’s warning: “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it” It’s a reminder that earned trust and integrity must guide every decision.
