Ron Hays, Oklahoma Farm Broadcaster, was inducted into the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) Hall of Fame in 2015. Known for his signature greeting – “Howdy, Neighbors” – among Oklahoma’s agriculture community, Ron has been reporting on agriculture issues throughout the state since 1977.

Ron was raised on a small tobacco farm in central Kentucky. He started his radio career his freshman year of college at the University of Kentucky, and has not stopped.
After Ron graduated in 1974, he accepted his first full‐time farm broadcaster position with KFH Radio in Wichita, Kansas and joined the NAFB.

Ron moved to Oklahoma Agrinet in Oklahoma City in 1977 and quickly established himself as the voice of agriculture for the great state of Oklahoma. In 2006 he joined Radio Oklahoma Network and OklahomaFarmReport.com.

Today Ron can be heard on 45 stations state‐wide, and across 5 states. In addition to his on‐air reports, Ron connects with his audience with a daily ag news email and social media.

During his many years behind the mic, Ron has been a driving force within the organization, serving in many capacities, including on the Board of Directors and as NAFB President. Ron has also been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including NAFB Farm Broadcaster of the Year and as a member of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2007.

Ron and his wife Jan reside in Oklahoma City.
